Coaching Institute Overview
The Coaching Institute is a three-part experience:
DO It (24 hours):
Description: Participants experience the Teamship program as a learner before they put their coaching hat on. Participants work in teams of 3-4 to propose a solution to a real business problem
Learning outcomes: (1) Internalize four critical mindsets to get better at solving complex problems in diverse teams; (2) Leverage 12 Teamship tools to strengthen collaborative problem solving skills.
SEE It (6 hours):
Description: Building on DO It, SEE It guides participants through a structured observational and practice sequence. Participants observe real student teams, record their analyses in a digital journal, and then practice delivering coaching moves in alignment with the Teamship Coaching Philosophy.
Learning outcomes: (1) Internalize the Teamship Coaching Philosophy and identify examples of its application; (2) Develop strategies for observing teams effectively to inform high-impact coaching moves; (3) Practice prioritizing and delivering concise, effective coaching moves
Certification Assessment (1 hour):
Description: Building on the DO It and SEE It phases, the Certification Assessment is the summative evaluation of the Coaching Institute program. Through a structured interview and mock coaching experience, participants demonstrate mastery of the Teamship Coaching Philosophy and readiness to serve as certified Teamship Coaches.
Learning outcomes: (1) Articulate what they have learned from their experience in the Coaching Institute; (2) Deliver / role play coaching moves to a mock student team, demonstrating the analytical and practical skills required for certification as a Teamship Coach
Participants who successfully complete all three program phases will earn an IACET CEU certificate (2.8 CEUs)
To fully engage in the program, participants must have:
• Access to a laptop or desktop computer
• A Gmail account to access program files
• Ability to join sessions on camera with a working microphone
• A distraction-free environment
